About Us

Chamber Variations started life as a trio for clarinet, cello and piano in 1977 but soon evolved into a group incorporating five wind instruments and a string quintet playing music for a wide variety of events.    This included repertoire for Music Societies and Charities such as Amnesty International in London and the Home Counties, sometimes performed with poetry reading.

The personnel has changed somewhat over the years and the core group is now a wind quintet which can expand to include saxophones, keyboards, harp and strings as required. We pride ourselves on being very versatile, willing to play a wide repertoire from classical to light entertainment.

Although based in North Oxfordshire, Chamber Variations has performed in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire, Surrey and Wales providing music for the following events:

  • Corporate Functions
  • Banquets
  • Weddings
  • Funerals
  • Garden Parties
  • Charitable Functions
  • Festivals
  • Music Societies
  • Educational/School Projects
  • Women’s Institute Events
  • Rotary Clubs

“There is an obvious camaraderie among the players, a huge sense of fun pervades their performance…”
