Tina Gandy (Flute, Irish whistle, Recorders)

Tina fell in love with the sound of the flute on a school trip to see the Halle Orchestra, and bizarrely ended up being taught by the soloist she heard that day! She went on to study Music and French at London University with flute as her main instrument.

Since then she has branched out and also plays recorders, Irish whistles and goats’ feet (yes, really!) with the Antonius Players who specialise in Poetry and Music recitals. As well as having fun with Chamber Variations, she is principal flute with Trinity Camerata.

Joanna Rhind-Tutt (Oboe, Saxophone)

Joanna studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Oxford Brookes University. She has been a freelance performer and teacher for many years in London, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, specialising in double reed instruments.

She enjoys chamber music playing and frequently performs in pit orchestras in theatre shows.

Linda Gregson (Clarinet, Saxophone)

Linda studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at London University. She has performed, conducted and taught in London and the Home counties and has lectured in music and education at Goldsmith’s College.

She founded Chamber Variations in 1978 with cellist Peter Maxwell and the pianist Hans Montanana to perform concerts largely in aid of Amnesty International. Since then it has morphed into a flexible chamber group for wind and strings.

She is principal clarinet with Trinity Camerata.

Robert Glyn Powell (Horn)

Bob started playing the French horn whilst still at primary school in Aberystwyth, following the rich tradition of Welsh hornists. Since moving to Oxfordshire in 1989 he has performed regularly in local symphony orchestras, including Oxford University Orchestra, Oxford Chamber Orchestra, Oxford Sinfonia and Cherwell Orchestra.

Shaun Roderick (Bassoon, Saxophone)

Shaun studied bassoon at the Welsh College of Music and Drama, Trinity College of Music, London under Vernon Elliott and Nuremburg Konservatorium on a scholarship with Walter Urbach (Berlin Philharmonic).

As a freelance bassoonist he has played in many venues with a variety of orchestras and chamber groups.

“We will certainly recommend you for similar events that other groups might want to stage.”
